AVC has furthered its Queensland quest, unveiling the reworked The Club Hotel at Gladstone, equipped with a modern sports bar, bistro and all-weather beer garden.
Doors to The Club reopened 13 April, following a $2.8 million renovation led by Kingston architects to transform it into a new and modernised destination for the local community.
The Club offers an expansive, light and bright family-friendly bistro, weather protected beer garden for over 300 people, with an outdoor kids’ playground, a laidback sports bar, upgraded gaming room and refreshed accommodation.
On the revised food menu, which can be ordered throughout the entire venue, will be a focus on Queensland pub classics and fresh local seafood, and there is an exclusive seniors’ offering.
Weekly attractions will include Monday Trivia, Tradie Club every Friday, and Kids’ Club every Sunday bringing free children’s entertainment such as face painting and balloon artists from 11.30am.
Australian Venue Co (AVC) instils its ‘Local Heroes’ initiative at its pubs, and The Club will raise funds by donating a dollar from the sale of every Parmi on Wednesdays for Volunteer Marine Rescue Gladstone, which is made up of volunteers who provide safety at sea.
In celebration of the opening, AVC is throwing its traditional ‘Welcome Weekend’, from Friday 5 to Sunday 7 May, featuring Tradie Club giveaways, a free BBQ and free chicken wings, merchandise and kids’ entertainment.
There will also be the ‘Cash Cube’ firing up every half hour from 1-5:30pm over the welcome weekend, giving patrons a chance to jump in and grab as much cash and vouchers as they can.
Gladstone is a coastal precinct of Queensland, around six hours north of Brisbane, or an hour south of Rockhampton. It counts approximately 64K residents, a high proportion of whom are over-50s.
AVC has been investing heavily in revitalising its Queensland pubs and the pub landscape, recently completing renovations including Dunwoody’s in Cairns, Boomerang Hotel in Mackay, and Coomera Lodge Hotel on the Gold Coast.
The group says it is eager to welcome more happy Gladstonians to check out the new look.
“It’s a major re-vamp for the pub, the team can’t wait to hear what our locals think – they’re in for a surprise,” says Craig Ellison, AVC COO.
“It’s going to be the new home of live sports in Gladstone and the go-to destination for local families.”
