AVC TAPS AMERICANA TREND AT THE WHARF

Australian Venue Co’s (AVC) Wharf Hotel has partnered with Pepsi to bring the American football experience to Melbourne’s Yarra.

The Wharf Hotel will be holding a tailgate party this weekend in preparation for the Super Bowl on Monday.

Offering face painting in team colours, live cheerleaders, American-style snack foods, and even a half-time marching band, the focus of the weekend will be on The Pepsi Pitch – a pontoon transformed into a floating football pitch.

The 200sqm floating pitch will be the main hangout space for both pre-game and game-day entertainment.

DJ sets are planned from 4-8pm Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th of February with classic American football clips and memorable halftime shows continuously screened on a 3.5- by 2-metre mega screen until the moment of the big game, when the show goes live, 10am Monday, 9 February.

The tailgate-inspired social hub will see guests kicking back on daybeds and deck chairs, enjoying four-hour unlimited beverage packages and classic footy snack boxes.

The pontoon also offers a fully serviced bar, and American-style cornhole games.

AVC is not the only venue to recognise an increase in the appeal of Americana, with Signature’s American-style Melbourne party venue (TGI) Fridays rising in popularity.

With Americana-themed events gaining momentum across Melbourne, AVC’s Wharf Hotel tailgate party is set to deliver a bold, immersive Super Bowl celebration on the Yarra, attracting plenty of devotees.
