AVC SERVES UP FRESH LOOKS IN SEQ

Australian Venue Co continues to invest in venue improvements, this month revealing further refreshed looks for two of its Queensland pubs.

North Brisbane’s Everton Park Hotel is the most recent overhaul, now boasting a sunny beer garden with its own bar, enhanced by big screens and festoon lights.

Its new-look sports bar reaches across a deck, with mega TV screens throughout, and now comes equipped with a ping pong table, air hockey and pool tables.

The hotel can also brag of its new kid’s playground, the largest in the vicinity, as well as a revamped bistro and menu.

Entertainment includes a poker night and retro video games night in the sports bar, along with family days, live music, trivia night and more.

Starting this Friday the pub will host a Local’s Weekend to put itself back on the map. Entertainment includes face painting, puppy cuddles, music, meat tray raffles, giveaways and much more.

Venue manager Ben Townsend said the locals were kept front and foremost during the entire process.

“It’s been a long time coming for our beautiful pub!” he said.

The other to see a revamp is Mount Gravatt’s Newnham Hotel, which re-opened 10 February.

Like Everton Park Hotel, the Newnham also boasts a new bistro and kids’ play area.

The pub has also had a refresh on its sports bar and function spaces.

With a bistro that seats 176 and a covered desk that seats a further 100 (and overlooks the playground), the menu has been upgraded to match.

The covered beer garden has received an upgrade on its AV, lighting and furniture, with easy access to the sports bar, which is now set up with theatre-style seating over two levels to watch sport on the big screens.

Entertainment will include a monthly ‘paint & sip’, musical bingo (with one session for seniors), live music, free kids’ entertainment and more.

This week the pub winds down from its own epic Locals Weekend.

Long-time local and venue manager Michelle Trickett reports the bistro is larger and more inviting thanks to its stylish new interior, and she is confident the outdoor areas will be popular.

“We are so excited to be welcoming our locals back through the pubs doors and show off the awesome new spaces,” she said.
