Australian Venue Co (AVC) has reopened local favourite The Esplanade Hotel in Victoria’s Queenscliffe after extensive renovations.
Locals voted the 146-year-old pub return to its original name, following its previous stint as Queenscliffe Brewhouse.
Officially opening Tuesday last week, Mitch Kovac, who has been venue manager for the past three years, said AVC was excited to re-open the doors.
“Our local legend has gotten a new lease on life, and we know our locals will love it – the buzz in the area has been awesome in the lead up to today,” he said.
Now sporting a refreshed coastal look with warm timbers and a blue and green palette, the pub has created a destination made for all locals.

Highlights of the sports bar include walls lined with television screens, an open fireplace, a pool table and casual high-top tables.
Outside, the revamped beer garden boasts native landscaping, picnic style tables and an expanded kids play area, and now welcomes the family dog.
The menu plays on the pub’s coastal theme, centring on fresh seasonal dishes in both share plates and traditional pub classics. Classics include juicy burgers, beer battered Victorian rockling and chips, pork chops and more.
Weekly entertainment will include happy hours, local’s night on Monday, trivia on Wednesday night, cocktails on Thursday night, live music across the weekends, and regular parma nights, where one dollar from each parma sold will be donated to Cottage By The Sea.
To celebrate the re-opening, 10-12 October will see the Esplanade Hotel host a huge Locals Weekend, with live music, charity raffles, kids’ entertainment and a free first drink all part of the festivities.
