Murphy’s Irish Pub has added a new dimension to Mandurah’s eastern foreshore, officially unveiling its long-awaited Sky Bar to an enthusiastic response from the local Western Australian community.
The milestone marks another major chapter for the locally owned venue, which first opened in 2008. The latest redevelopment includes a 116-seat Boardwalk Alfresco and the much-anticipated rooftop bar, a vision more than a decade in the making.
Local businesses, community members and political representatives joined owners Rodney and Vanessa Janiec for the official launch last Thursday. Guests included City of Mandurah Mayor Amber Kearns, City CEO Casey Mihovilovich and Dawesville MLA Lisa Munday.
Overlooking Mandurah, the Sky Bar offers a new rooftop experience featuring an expanded selection of wines and cocktails, alongside a share-style dining menu. A dedicated 10-person lift also ensures the venue is fully accessible.
The community response following the opening weekend was encouraging, with the owners thanking locals for their support, well wishes and positive feedback. Both familiar faces and new visitors have already enjoyed the new space, with further events and experiences planned.
Murphy’s Sky Bar is currently open Wednesday to Sunday, from 12pm until late, weather permitting. The venue is initially operating on a walk-in basis while weather conditions remain unpredictable, with online bookings through the Murphy’s website expected to follow.
The food menu will also expand over the coming weeks, with additional dining options planned as the weather becomes more consistent. The rooftop is available for private functions.
The Sky Bar is a non-smoking and non-vaping venue, with plans underway to establish a designated smoking area near the external stair exit.
The redevelopment has received support through the State Government’s Regional Economic Development (RED) Grants Program, with funding contributing towards a retractable roof scheduled for installation in the coming weeks.
With its waterfront outlook, new dining offering and accessible facilities, Murphy’s Sky Bar is poised to become another popular destination on Mandurah’s eastern foreshore.
