HISTORIC FRANKLIN GETS MODERN TWIST MAKEOVER

One of Adelaide’s oldest pubs has received its newest makeover, this time by Union Bridge Brewery and Distillery’s Steve O’Connor and Gerri Milham.

The 168-year-old pub was originally built as the Sir John Franklin Inn, before becoming known as the Flagstaff Hotel. In 2010 was reimagined again, as the Benjamin on Franklin.

Earlier this month the relaunched venue officially became known as the Union Bridge on Franklin.

It is billed as Union Bridge Brewery and Distillery’s “younger, sassier sister to our esteemed Cudlee Creek venue”, which acknowledges its rich history while embracing the dynamic energy of the city.

Union Bridge on Franklin showcases Union Bridge’s limecello, brandy, vodka, gins and beers along with their unique range of alcoholic sodas.

The selection of six soda flavours are now showcased in the pub’s Soda Room, where the pub claims to be the ‘home of the adults only sodas on tap’, with flavours such as ginger beer, sarsaparilla and cherry cola.

The pub’s executive chef, Daniel Brooks, has also designed a share menu, which was launched last weekend.

With its vibrant new identity and modern offerings, Union Bridge on Franklin promises to be a fresh yet nostalgic addition to Adelaide’s pub scene.
