Sponsor businesses and Hurley Hotel Group are calling for support for this year’s Chip In For Charity Golf Day in October.
To date the event has raised over $280,000 for the Mary Potter Foundation and Hospice, with the generous support of local businesses and major sponsors Coopers, Carlton & United Breweries, and Lion.
This year’s event will take place Friday, 23 October – and is already booked out.
But organisers are still trying to secure prizes and auction items for the day, and Hurley Hotels director and Chair of the 2015 Golf Day committee Jenny Hurley says they rely on the ongoing help they get from business and community.
“In our economic climate, raising funds for local charity is getting tougher and tougher.
“As a committee, we’re thrilled to have the continued support of all our 2015 sponsors who have shown their dedication and commitment to the cause and have come on board with us again this year to support the Mary Potter Foundation and the hospice,” says Jenny Hurley.
Silent auctions items last year included the likes of:
- Three nights at the Aruma River Resort for up to 10 people – donated by Hurley Hotels
- Function for 20 people at the Arkaba Hotel – donated by Hurley Hotels
- Golf Pro lessons at Grange Golf Club
- Tickets to events such as a Kylie Minogue concert and footy at Adelaide Oval
Previous major auction items have included: ‘dive with the sharks’, advertising bundles with Austereo stations in Adelaide, Coopers brewery tours, VIP footy experiences at West End Brewery, meet & greets with the Adelaide 36ers and Adelaide Crows, and a money-can’t-buy Port Adelaide VIP experience.
