The multi-award-winning Eatons Hill Hotel has begun its next stage of evolution, bringing five years of expectation and huge facilities with Eatons Hill Village.

A ground-breaking ceremony was held last week, with Comiskey Group director Rob Comiskey hosting media, invited guests and Moreton Bay Mayor, Allan Sutherland, along with Deputy Mayor Councillor, Mike Charlton.

Eatons Hill opened in 2011 to much acclaim and proclamations of it being the ‘biggest hotel in Australia’. The very large-format pub will now be adjoined by the all-pleasing Eatons Hill Village – a new $45 million development that will boast 1200 m² of retail space, a large Woolworths, a restaurant precinct, gym with pool, function spaces and an 88-room 4.5-Star motel. The Village will occupy 2.5 hectares beside the existing Hotel.

Robert Comiskey spoke of plans for the Village when Eatons Hill first opened, and after so long in the planning it is finally within sight, expected to finish around mid-2017. He hopes it will bring some of the trappings of “inner-city living” to the area, and told PubTIC he wants it to be more than a (very) big pub.

Eatons Hill Hotel

“Eatons Hill Village has been a long-term goal of ours because our aim has been to turn the Hotel from a destination into more of a convenience model.

“We want it to be a one-stop-shop and for it to include something for everyone.”

The Eatons Hill Hotel has won many awards since it opened, and last year the five-year-old pub was inducted into the QHA Hall of Fame.
