POSTMAN’S TAVERN RETURNS TO MARKET PENDING RETIREMENT

A long-term hotelier is hanging up the bar mat, listing his Postman’s Tavern ahead of pending retirement.

Located on a 692 m² corner site with street frontage on three sides, the imposing Postman’s is a landmark in the Nowra region, about two hours south of the Sydney CBD.

The private vendor has owned and operated it for a decade and pubs in NSW for over 25 years, including the Heathcote Hotel, and legendary live music hall the Lansdowne Hotel, across from Sydney University.

This live focus has been perpetuated at the Postman’s Tavern, which regularly hosts entertainment nights, and bands billed under its ‘Postcards’ events label.

The hotel enjoys a 1am licence and revenue exceeding $1.8 million, with 15 EGMs, eight in the all-important smoking solution.

It is being marketed by JLL Hotels’ executive Alex Richardson, who notes the significant infrastructure boom taking place in the region.

“The hotel is set to benefit from recent zoning control changes, with additional height and density increases within the CBD and surrounding blocks, only further increasing activity in this already busy precinct.”

The Postman’s Tavern is being sold via an Expressions of Interest campaign, closing 9 March.
