MORE COURAGE FOR AUSSIE CRAFT SPIRITS

Australian craft spirits are set to find well-deserved greater prominence in the local market thanks to a Nip of Courage expansion into trade wholesale.

Australian craft spirits specialist Nip of Courage (NoC) has been the national distributor for a wide variety of boutique Aussie distilleries since 2013, and today announced it is now gearing up to further expand operations.

The new wholesale arm will provide warehousing and logistics for a wide range of Australian spirits, becoming a one-stop-shop for trade and retail customers. It is an extension of the company’s existing distributor operations it believes will help overcome industry challenges.

The service will provide national warehousing and logistics, giving the liquor trade greater access to regional brands, while bolstering the reach of local distilleries.

It is expected the expansion will facilitate greater market share for Australian distillers, which despite their successes and acclaim overseas, currently see less than one per cent (1%) of the market here.

The move by NoC comes as the pandemic and national shutdown have shifted the buying patterns of many consumers.

“Australians are gradually gaining a greater ‘Buy Local’ mentality when it comes to produce, wine and beer,” says Kathleen Davies, NoC founder.

“Nip of Courage Wholesale aims to foster these same attitudes in the world of Aussie craft spirits, making it easier than ever to support Australian brands.”

Furthering the goal to “bring Australian craft spirits into the spotlight” the company will be running regular workshops to assist smaller distilleries into the Australian spirits market, and will be partnering with brands, distillers and distributors to increase buying power, assisting producers in purchasing equipment.

There will also be drop shipping solutions for online retailers through Nip of Courage Wholesale’s central location.

The new online wholesale portal will be launched early 2021, streamlining the ordering process for trade customers and offering access to hundreds of lines in the one place.

A direct-to-public retail site will also be launched, pushing the ‘Support Local’ strategy, making it easier for Australian shoppers to support Australian brands.
