JOHNNIE MARKS 200 YEARS WITH LIMITED RELEASE AND DOCUMENTARY

Johnnie Walker – the world’s most recognised Scotch – is celebrating 200 years, spawning a limited-edition varietal and documentary by acclaimed independent film makers.

The iconic Scotch whisky began in Kilmarnock, Scotland, in 1820, in a small grocery shop run by a Mr John Walker.

To celebrate the brand’s 200th birthday, the limited-edition John Walker & Sons Celebratory Blend has been released, offering “a sensorial journey featuring notes of sweet dried raisins, subtle spice and marzipan, which develop into hints of roasted nuts, icing sugar sweetness and gentle peat with a soft pepper finish”.

From a Scottish grocer, Johnnie Walker has grown through pioneering innovation to spread around the world, now occupying a place in virtually all hotels, bars and restaurants and many homes.

The iconic Walking Man insignia has become “embedded in culture” as a mark of progress.

Also coinciding with the 200-year anniversary, independent film makers have released The Man Who Walked Around the World – created by Something™ Originals, produced by Partizan Films and guided by Emmy-nominated and triple BAFTA-winning director Anthony Wonke.

The documentary has begun screening on Amazon Prime, featuring previously untold stories, archival footage and in-depth conversations on the spirit that turned Johnnie Walker into one of the world’s great names.
