HURLEY’S TORRENS ARMS $2M GLOW UP TURNS HEADS

The 168-year-old Torrens Arms (TA) Hotel, part of the Hurley Hotel Group, has undergone a stunning $2 million transformation.

The revamp has given the Adelaide venue a contemporary European elegance, brightening its style while retaining the feel that the locals love.

The refreshed look includes a complete transformation of TA’s courtyard, extending the space by around thirty per cent. A fireplace and additional booths as well as large, open windows, lush greenery and a new bar that directly services the area can now serve large groups with ease.

Seating has been added to both the lower formal dining area and upper lounge, while the upper lounge has been given a moody, cosy feel perfect for couples.

Not stopping there, TA has also revamped the menu, offering top-tier service along with high quality pub classics, share options for courtyard dining and lamb shoulder and barramundi options for restaurant diners.

Visitors can expect live acoustic music every Friday night and Sunday afternoon, while movie-goers can take advantage of the nearby cinema’s offer of $12 tickets with each main meal – or the drinks offers available if punters show their movie ticket stub.

TA has been part of the Hurley Group since 1985 and was nominated for an AHA Community Service and Support Award in 2021.

The new look was designed by local company Folland Panozzo Architects, with renovations by Response Carpentry. Interiors were designed by Fleur Linke from Surround Interiors, whose portfolio includes other Hurley hotels such as Hotel Panorama, currently under construction; Arkaba Hotel and Hotel Royal, as well as Hurley Cellars.

TA Manager Jake Deslandes said that once they step through the doors, customers will notice a refreshing change.

“The new TA has a real European feel to it, and we’re really focusing on making it a more light, airy space that will be a great place to settle in with friends or family, especially as the months start to become warmer.”

The transformation marks a new chapter for the TA, one that celebrates timeless hospitality with a modern edge.
