The Victorian liquor regulator has released a useful guide for operators, outlining how staff can identify and properly manage intoxication.
The VGCCC (former VCGLR) stresses that intoxication is a high-harm issue, and should be top-of-mind for licensees, managers and staff.
To help prevent and manage intoxicated patrons, it has released a video highlighting five key areas:
- the definition of intoxication
- the VGCCC intoxication guidelines
- how licensees can prevent intoxication at their venue
- how licensees should manage refusing service to intoxicated patrons
- how to identify a standard drink
The video is a resource for hospitality workers, providing a recap of what to keep in mind.
