Police were called to the Robina Pavilion after reports a man that had been evicted from the pub had returned, reversing his Commodore through the entrance.
The incident took place Wednesday night, around 8pm, after the 27-year-old man was reportedly kicked out of the Gold Coast hotel for being too drunk.
With his girlfriend in the passenger’s seat, the man reversed 20 metres through the entranceway and then the front doors and foyer, leaving smashed glass everywhere.
He then drove out again and to a service station next door, where police apprehended and arrested him on a long list of charges.
It is understood he was bleeding from the face and missing teeth – although this was not thought to be from the accident, but from an altercation he began in the car park with someone prior to his automotive antics.
Queensland police spokesman Mark Wheeler said the act was “absolutely dangerous and irresponsible, and I condemn it completely.
“I’m just glad no-one was really seriously injured, and we didn’t see loss of life out of that.”
The unnamed man has been remanded in custody pending hearing, and possibly for his own safety.
