AVC ROLLS OUT ‘BUY NOW PAY LATER’

Australian Venue Co has announced another on-trend initiative, partnering directly with Afterpay to offer customers access to the ‘Buy Now, Pay Later’ phenomenon.

Afterpay is a leading provider in the BNPL (Buy Now, Pay Later) space.

It’s popularity with consumers is based in people not wanting to use credit at the checkout, while having the flexibility to budget for purchasers.

Afterpay pays the vendor account at time of purchase, and allows users to repay the amount over four interest-free instalments, with no interest ever or fees – if paid on time.

AVC launches ‘Dine Now, Pay Later’ on 1 November at 12 of its NSW venues. The system will be rolled out to all the group’s 160 venues across Australia on 15 November.

AVC reports a lot of success with incorporating Mr Yum, which happened pre-pandemic. CEO Paul Waterson says the new move was driven by customer demand, and they are excited to be the first hospitality group in Australia to partner with Afterpay and to apply such a technology solution to the Australian hospitality context.

“We’re not afraid to go first. As a group, we seek out other industry leaders who we can work with to innovate on behalf of our customers.

“Our customers have been clear. We know what they want, and we’re happy to offer them more flexibility, especially as they shift away from credit cards,” said Waterson.
