The Sackville Hotel, a Solotel venue in Sydney’s Inner West, has reopened its doors following a full-scale renovation.
The Roselle institution has ushered in a new era, retaining its familiar spirit but boasting a contemporary design and new features its locals have long desired.
The Sackville’s interior has received a warm yet unpretentious glow-up featuring new furniture and lighting, but the biggest feature is in its new layout.
The main bar now flows between booths, high tables and large, street-facing windows, making it perfect for celebrations and events.

Outside, taking advantage of the pub’s corner position, new seating spills onto the footpath, ensuring a perfect place to enjoy buzzing Roselle while sipping a lazy Sunday afternoon cocktail.
The drinks menu has been carefully redesigned. The bar offers over twelve beers on tap, a fresh cocktail menu and a wide selection of wines.
A new menu has pub classics sitting comfortably alongside share-friendly snacks and lighter seasonal dishes.
Not stopping there, The Sackville now has a brand-new sports bar, boasting a dedicated bar, expansive screens and TAB facilities.
The drive-through bottleshop hasn’t been forgotten either, with a new click and collect option for busy locals.
While regular programming will shortly return in full swing, 4-9 November will see a week of celebrations to mark the Sackville’s reopening.
Group CEO Elliot Solomon said the renovation has given the Rozelle cornerstone a new life, especially the front bar.
“We’ve created a space that’s designed for the changing face of Rozelle and Balmain – where people can pop in for a beer, catch the game, or settle in for an afternoon that rolls into the night with family and friends,” he said.
“It’s still the Sacky everyone loves, just with a fresh new energy and a cracking new menu.”
Solotel was recently recognised at the Australian Hotels Association NSW Awards for Excellence for 2025, with Public House Petersham winning ‘Best Outdoor Experience (Including Rooftop Bar), while the winner of Best Cocktail List went to Barangaroo House.
