In continued efforts to increase live performances in venues across New South Wales, the Office of the 24-Hour Economy Commissioner has now opened round two of its Live Performance Venue Grant program, offering up to $80K in grant funds to small and medium hospitality venues.
The $2.5 million competitive grant program is open to pubs, clubs, bars, breweries, wineries and others who do not currently offer regular live performances but have the desire and space to do so.
With the aim of increasing both the number and diversity of performances across NSW, as well as to increase employment opportunities, grants between $15K and $80K will be given to fund staging and sound equipment and pay performers, and for marketing and promotion.
These grants are expected to enable easier access to live performances for more local communities across the state.

24-Hour Economy Commissioner Michael Rodrigues pointed out the key role the arts and performance play in the 24-hour economy.
“Live performance takes many forms and here in NSW we are home to an array of talented performers offering live music, theatre, comedy, dance and more.
“So, from the city and the suburbs to regional towns across the state, we encourage eligible venues looking to expand their offerings to apply for the Live Performance Venue Program grants.”
In the first round, over fifty venues across the Greater Sydney, Newcastle and Wollongong areas received grants.
Ash Bailey, owner of Bar Yuki and round one grant recipient said they could not have acquired a PA system, backlighting or the extra sound protection of drapes without the NSW Government’s involvement.
“Growing up here in Milton, there wasn’t always a lot to do, but we have created a place in this beautiful community – that we are so lucky to live in – which gives people a place to go and enjoy music and a dance,” Bailey said.

Applications close on 23 September 2025.
