A seemingly jilted woman at a Perth bar has allegedly assaulted the manager and used her car to ram the pub, before being arrested after police followed her trail home.
Video has emerged (below) of the woman believed to be Jenna Manley using her Mustang to smash into the Monkey Bar in Mandurah, south of Perth, on Tuesday night around 11pm.
The 39-year-old mother of two was at a Valentine’s day event for singles and was said to be flirting with several men, according to a witness. Manley was asked to leave, due to apparent intoxication, whereupon she reportedly struck the manager multiple times with the heel of her stiletto.
Leaving the bar, she returned in a red Mustang, and got out of the vehicle shouting “fuck you” before getting back into the car and using it to ram the building several times.
Police were called and alerted to a vehicle being driven in a dangerous manner outside, and arrived soon after. They subsequently followed a trail of tyre marks and debris including one of the car’s hubcaps ten kilometres to a home in Wannanup, where the car was found and seized for forensic examination.
A statement by police alleged the woman had been evicted over suspected intoxication and arrested at her home.
She was charged with six offences, including common assault, reckless driving, unlawful act or omission with intent to harm and criminal damage or destruction of property, and could face a lot of prison time if convicted. She was refused bail to appear in Perth Magistrates Court to following day.
On Wednesday, she claimed in Court to recall being offered a drink by an unknown man, and suggests her behaviour was because her drink was spiked.
As she had no previous criminal convictions, Manley was granted bail with personal bond and strict conditions, including no alcohol, random breath tests, 9pm curfew, no entry to any licensed premise, and reporting to Mandurah police three times per week.
While it was not specified if she was also charged with drink driving, the woman also had her drivers’ licence cancelled for two months.
She is scheduled to appear again in Mandurah Magistrates Court on 29 March.
