Surry Hills pubs becoming more Brewnique

The owners of Surry Hills craft beer pubs the Keg & Brew and the Dove & Olive are ramping up their activity in the second annual Craft Beer Rising with a special collaboration they’re calling Brewnique.

The one-off event will see the pubs showcase some unique, limited release drops, including two special brews from local brewery bar Yullis.

Brewnique is part of the venues’ activity with Craft Beer Rising, which is a national event bringing together brewers, pubs and drinkers to toast locally-brewed beer.

“Craft Beer Rising is a nationwide celebration of locally brewed beers, and we’re all about the love of good beer,” Keg & Brew licensee Zak Solari told PubTIC.

The pubs’ menus will also get a taste of the action, with beery twists such as smoked pilsner salmon, amber ale pork chops, beer butter mussels and porter beef brisket. There is even Pacific ale bean salad for the vegetarians.

“We’ve teamed up with local brewers to tap some pretty special limited release brews that are hard to get your hands on. Combine that with some hearty pub food from our special ‘drunken’ menu on the day and you’ve got a winning combo. If you’re into Craft Beer and you’d like to try something new, hit us up on the 28th.”

Furthering the experience, guests can enter the draw to win one of two exclusive opportunities to participate in a collaborative brew at Manly’s 4Pines brewery.

Brewnique will take place 28 February, with further details available on the pubs’ websites.
