NORTHIES THROWING BIG SHARKS PARTY SUNDAY

Cronulla faithfuls will be rewarded this weekend with free food and drink at Laundy’s Northies Hotel, as the pub matches shock-jock Kyle Sandilands’ pledge on the Sharks’ win.

northies-cronulla_grand-final_fb_adj_crpsq_smlrLast weekend Australia watched Cronulla’s pride and joy edge out the Melbourne Storm to take the 2016 NRL Premiership. Captain Paul Gallen fought off a viral infection that saw him miss part of the game and head to hospital after it, to win 14-12 and capture the Sharks’ first ruby league crown.

Back in July, KIIS 1065’s controversial radio host Kyle Sandilands promised to put some big money on the bar at local landmark Northies if Cronulla won the grand final. He has since told Pedestrian TV he will be ”slamming down ten thousand clams” this Sunday, from 3pm.

It was rumoured Laundy Hotels would be matching this beer-tab “buck for buck” – but Fraser Short, business partner with Arthur Laundy in the Cronulla institution, confirmed to PubTIC this would be in the form of meals, to accompany the golden gratuities.

“We’re proud to be celebrating with the people of Cronulla and fans of the NRL Premiers.”

While many in The Shire heartland have barely stopped partying since last Sunday’s win, the pub will be hosting a more family-oriented occasion from 10am to 10pm, with a ‘Community BBQ’, pig on a spit and lamb roast. Some of the winning team members will also be present during the day.

Those wishing to attend are requested to RSVP to the Northies Cronulla Community BBQ guest list.
