The Drinks Industry Show is offering more to hospitality professionals, with a Spirit Tasting Masterclass adding to the seminar program at the upcoming free event, 26-27 June.
The theme of this year’s Drinks Industry Show (DIS) is innovation, and this is reflected in both the line-up of more than 20 speakers at the free seminars, and the program for the spirit-tasting.
Proceedings will begin at midday with the Australian Gin & other Craft Spirits session, hearing from ambassadors and distillers about the special qualities of crafted spirits, and tasting new products and market leaders of the burgeoning craft movement.
From 1pm the Agave Spirits session will offer everything “from ancestral to industrial and everything in-between” including the latest about Mezcal, and tasting under the guidance of global Mezcal ambassador Phil Bayly, Tio’s GM Alex Gilmour, and Mezcal educator Jose Ponce.
The sessions conclude with the World Whisk(e)y Smackdown, featuring passionate representatives and class-leading expressions from Scotland, Ireland, USA, Canada, Japan and Australia. Attendees vote for their favourite, determining who gets bragging rights to Best Whisk(e)y.
