BRAND NEW IRISH PUB TOASTS ‘McCOOL’ LEGEND

Three brothers are opening a brand new ‘all-day’ Irish pub in Brisbane, serving up breakfast, lunch and dinner every day with oodles of authenticity.

Finn McCool’s Irish Bar is currently under construction in the heart of Fortitude Valley, bringing an evolved formula including “traditional Irish fare with a modern twist” and a selection of Irish, local and international beers.

The pub’s very own laneway bar, The Causeway, will be open from 7:30am every day, offering barista-made coffee to take away, or enjoy with a hearty breakfast. Local and international live sports will run on multiple “massive” screens, and live music will play Thursdays through to Sundays, which will also offer a traditional ‘Sunday Roast’.

To muster maximum interest and publicity ahead of the opening later this month and big launch party early May, Finn McCool’s is running a ‘Win a trip to Ireland’ competition.

The venue is the brainchild of the Heanen brothers, raised in London of Irish parents and recent immigrants to Australia. The lads are aiming for a “warm, friendly interior and high-quality experience” coupled with true Irish spirit.

“We wanted to bring an authentic Irish pub to Brisbane – but with a modern twist,” says co-owner Sean Heanen.

“We’re very excited to share our Irish heritage with locals, bringing a real taste of Ireland to Brisbane, with our traditional Irish food, beer, bands and great Irish staff – some freshly imported just for Finn McCool’s.”

The $3.5 million dollar fitout will reportedly make Finn McCool’s “one of the largest Irish pubs in Brisbane” and very likely the most dedicated to the genre, naturally

pouring fresh Guinness and Kilkenny with the range of premium beers and ciders, and even importing Irish staff.

The somewhat quirky name comes from the legend of a mythical Irish warrior giant that battled and defeated a Scottish giant. It is said that Finn McCool still sleeps in a cave below Dublin and will awake one day to defend Ireland in the hour of her greatest need.

“But until then … we’ll drink to the legend that is Finn McCool.”
