100 WORLD CLASS COCKTAIL EVENTS TO REIGN ON EAST COAST

The annual World Class Cocktail Week will return next month for the biggest year yet, offering over 100 experiences across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, from 7-13 May.

Over forty events will take place in Sydney, at some of the city’s most celebrated boutique bars, such as Neighbourhood, Drake, Milky Lane, Longrain, and the award-winning This Must Be The Place.

Melbourne will see another forty cocktail experiences, at the likes of Vaporetto Bar & Eatery, Hochi Mama, Bad Frankie, The Ugly Duckling and Nieuw Amsterdam.

Lovers and students of cocktails in Brisbane can head to The Bowery, Pony Dining, Buffalo Bar Seymour’s Cocktails and Oysters, and The Cobbler.

World Class Cocktail Week 2017 will also see staff at two of the country’s best bars swap for two nights, as teams from Melbourne’s Black Pearl trade places with Sydney’s Bulletin Place – founded by former Black Pearl bartenders Adi Ruiz, Tim Phillips and Robb Sloan.

This is the ninth year for Diageo’s acclaimed World Class bartender competition, and Australia’s newly-appointed ambassador, Natalie Ng, says the six-day event is part of showcasing the limits of what can be done.

“Shining a light on some of Australia’s best hospitality talent, World Class Cocktail Week celebrates the skill, creativity and inspiration that goes into creating cocktails.”
